Sharing

I spent the last week with Erin and her family helping them with the new baby.  My little buddy, Gray is having to learn a lot about sharing these days.  A new sister in his life means he has to share his people, his house ... his whole world, really.

I brought along a treat for us to share.  Gray taught me that he knew a lot about sharing when I handed him the box of cookies to take into the living room.  He would hand us one each time we asked.  I couldn't figure out why he bit off half of every cookie he handed me but gave whole ones to his mother.  In thinking it through, we realized that Erin simply asked "May I have a cookie please, Gray?"  but I had asked "Can you share one with Gramma please, Gray?"  I guess it is all in how one asks.
