Lorie - A Life Undisclosed

Anne called this morning .. Lorie wasn't breathing .. and now she is gone. Lorie was never able to tell us what was going on in her mind .. she did let one know when she was pleased or when she was unhappy about things .. but not in detail. So much of what she experienced and felt was undisclosed .. not by choice .. but because that was the path chosen for her .. an extremely difficult path.

As a child .. she would sit on my knee with her arms around my neck and rock back & forth .. giggling as she tossed me about on the sofa. Later when I married .. she had a crush on my husband .. she would force herself between us as we sat together. The first New Year's Eve after our wedding .. when Lorie was told to kiss Grampa .. she went over and kissed Rob. This happened not once but twice that evening .. a lovely welcome to the family.

Lorie is gone and my heartbroken sister will feel yet another empty space in her life. August has not been a kind month for Anne .. too many losses .. a father .. a husband .. a daughter. Hopefully .. we can help her to bear the load in the days ahead when the burden of grief is too heavy for her to bear alone.
